Vision

CHFA’s vision is for a community housing system that provides secure, affordable and appropriate housing for people in housing need, promotes greater choice in housing, maximises tenant participation and builds sustainable communities.

Goals

CHFA’s long-term goals are:

• To develop and promote the community housing sector as a strong, independent and viable social housing sector where community housing providers have the maximum opportunity to regulate their own affairs.
• To develop a tenant focussed community housing sector, based on quality and standards, which provides affordable and appropriate housing with security of tenure.
• To continue to build the Community Housing Federation of Australia as an efficient, effective and sustainable national industry body which is responsive to its members’ needs and development.
• To maximise the financial and other resources available to the sector from Government and non-government sources in order to expand the role community housing plays in meeting the social housing needs in Australia.
