The Federation was established by housing associations in NSW to support the growth of community housing sector.

  • Association to Resource Co-operative Housing (ARCH)

ARCH is the community-based federating peak body for housing co-operatives in NSW.

ARCH promotes an awareness of co-operative housing, provides federating, representative and advocacy functions for members, provides effective education and training, provides information on matters affecting the co-operative housing sector, and carries out research on co-operative housing.

South Australia

  • Community Housing Council of South Australia (CHCSA)

The Council is the peak body for community housing groups (both housing co-operatives and housing associations) in South Australia. The Council was formed through the amalgamation of the Community Housing Associations Forum (CHAF) and the Community Housing Assistance Service of SA (CHASSA) in 1997.

The Council helps new and established community housing groups through education and representation, and promotes the benefits of community housing.

  • Community Rent Schemes Association of QLD (CRSAQ)

The Rent Schemes help low income earners to get into and maintain private rental and other types of accommodation. The CRSAQ helps through income based rent subsidies. The Schemes also provide short to medium term accommodation to public housing applicants in severe and immediate housing need.

    Shelter Tasmania has existed as a peak body for housing and housing related issues in Tasmania since 1975. Shelter Tasmania has played a leading role in the development of the social housing sector, ensuring that both government and community hear and respond to the housing needs and experiences of low income and disadvantaged Tasmanians. Shelter works to create opportunities to support, establish, resource and co-ordinate non-government organisations and agencies with similar interests and objectives to the association.
