Prime Minister Rudd announces National Housing Supply Council members and release of the National Rental Affordability Scheme (NRAS) technical paper 2/05/08
Prime Minister Rudd today spoke at the Housing Industry Association National Conference and covered a range of housing topics. He announced the composition of the National Housing Supply Council and released the NRAS technical discussion paper that outlines the key features and operating conditions for the Scheme. National Rental Affordability Scheme technical discussion paper 2/05/08
The National Rental Affordability Scheme (NRAS) technical discussion paper has been released and comments are sought by 31 May 2008. The paper sets out the framework for this new housing initiative, including several key questions that the Commonwealth is seeking responses to from interested parties.

Prime Minister Rudd announced that Government would extend the National Rental Affordability Scheme beyond 5 years and expanded the target from 50,000 new homes to 100,000 house.
